Meet Nicole

Hi! I'm Nicole and Welcome to RaspberryStethoscope.com...

I'm a 27 year old Registered Nurse, BSN with a passion for all things health, especially food and fitness. This journal was created originally to chronicle my journey through nursing school. The previous title was actually, "Nicole, Student Nurse."

This blog has been through many transformations, and I am now in my fourth fifth year of blogging!

In 2008, I graduated from nursing school with a BSN, and now work in an ICU...

When I'm not busy in the Intensive Care Unit helping patients and families, I love to...

...spend time in the kitchen...

...work on keeping my body healthy, in many forms...

...and spend time with the love of my life, Mirza...

He's a middle school music teacher...

Planning our wedding for OCTOBER 20, 2012!

We've been together since high school, nearly a decade now!

If you stick around long enough, you'll also learn my deep love and passion for animals, especially our two kitties

 Charlie and Abbey

Lately, you'll find I am a bit busy with working full-time and going to school part-time to earn my Masters degree to become  a Family Nurse Practitioner

Enjoying a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle is my on-going and ultimate goal. What's yours?

As a side note, any stories from the hospital are composites of different patients, doctors, nurses, and situations. Details about stories have been changed to protect patient and healthcare worker identities.
Also, there may be times when I simply will refer to a patient as "him" or "her," but it is simply to allow the post to flow more easily, since it can be difficult to write a post using "him/her" for each pronoun. Please keep in mind that just because it says "him" or "her," that it may not actually be male or female and that all stories are composites of patients. All of the details are changed and stories are made up. If a patient's story sounds familiar to you, it is definitely a coincidence, as most stories are fabricated and made up.
